Political Aspect of The Chosen

The Chosen is set in the near future where government  has created the Department of Élu Services, the most powerful agency in government. They have the power to order powerful senators to do their bidding. They have unlimited power and funding to insure that no one  discovers the truth behind Élu—The Chosen. There is no Habeas corpus concerns for the DÉS. The director of the DÉS is judge, jury, and executioner for anyone who disobeys, especially department agents.

Follow Michelle as she and her friends battle this powerful government agency in order for the girl to live past her eighteenth birthday when the government mandates she must die. The fact that Michelle's father is a powerful senator doesn't help, because his political future depends on her death.
Although the novel is technically alternative history, science fiction, it is also a political thriller.
